For many months, a team at Unity has been diligently working to create the capital campaign. I’d like to take a moment to introduce them to you.
Capital Campaign Team
Stan Joyner
Josh Gottfrid
Debbie Dysart
Cynthia Mashburn
Marty Smith
Wade Wilson
Doug Phillips
Ron and Anna Wilbanks
I’d like to thank this team for all of their hard work and dedication to this effort.
Our hope is that you will attend one of the presentations on Sunday, January 26, at 6:00pm or Sunday, February 23, at 12:00pm. Afterward, if you still have questions, please reach out to one of these team members. They are all very knowledgeable about the campaign and are willing to meet with you.
Are you ready to learn a bit more about the campaign?
Here’s another sneak preview:
We have several items within our campus that need to be upgraded.
The Children and Youth Center was built in the 1970s. It houses our growing children and youth programs and is heavily used by our preschool, the Boy and Girl Scouts, and by yoga and other community groups. We need to invest in this building by renovating the lighting and bathrooms. Additionally, there is room to build a few offices for our staff, who have been floating in various places around the campus since the old offices were shut down. Remodeling the CYC will provide permanent office space for our staff.
The playground is over 20 years old and is heavily used by our children’s program, our preschool, and outside groups like Soccer Shots. It needs a substantial upgrade. Currently, only half of it can be used by the preschool. The other half holds outdated items that are not safe for the preschool. We’d like to replace these items and modernize the playground.
Additionally, the old chapel has been closed since 2007. It is time to remove the chapel and old offices to prepare for future growth.
Intrigued? I hope so! We have many exciting things planned and would love to tell you more about them.
If you want to come to the dinner on January 26, please RSVP by Friday, January 24, by emailing David@unitypres.org. Additionally, to RSVP for the lunch on February 23, please sign up in the Gathering Area or email Cynthia Mashburn at cynthia.mashburn@gmail.com. Child care will be provided during the February 23 lunch.
On Sunday, we will continue our Indescribable God series by exploring how God is like a lamb.
Also, we avoided the snow, and the roads are clear, so we will have Wednesday Night Dinner tonight.
See you on Sunday!
