What an Easter!
Thank you for joining us in that tremendous celebration of Jesus’ resurrection. As I was reflecting on the day I was particularly struck by how joyful the morning felt. It made me wish that everyday could feel like that.
And maybe everyday could… What if we woke up every morning and the first thought that crossed our minds was about God’s deep love for us? I must admit, my first thought in the morning is usually “Its morning already!?” or “Where is the coffee??” But if our first thought could be about God’s love, that would be enough to point us toward joy.
Each Tuesday I will be writing a short note to the congregation that will be e-mailed out and also posted online. My hope is that the note will be a reminder for you each week that God is present in your life. Life can get so very busy, and we need these little reminders to seek God daily. I’d like to invite you to reflect on the following verse as a part of this reminder of God’s presence.
“Always be joyful. Never stop praying. Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.”
-1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
I pray that this week will be a week of joy for you. In all things, may you commit yourself to prayer and conversation with God. And may that conversation lead you to a deep sense of inner gratitude for all that you have- for this is God’s will for us.
See you on Sunday!
