Wow, I am thrilled with your responses to the “Celebrate and Dream” forms! This past Sunday, we received tons and tons of feedback. Over the next couple of weeks the staff and session will be compiling all of the responses into common themes. Then we will be sharing with you, the congregation, the main themes. In case you missed it, here is what we asked you to do.
Celebrate: As you reflect on this past year, please list the things you want to celebrate about Unity.
Dream: As you look to 2019, what are your dreams for how God may use this church?
Here are a couple of responses that I want to highlight:
Things That Unity Celebrates From 2018
“Unity provides me with a place to worship God with others. This makes it easier to stop and do what I should be doing for others.”
“Unity feels like home.”
“I find purpose in serving and learning here.”
“We have overcome so much and can celebrate a lot of things this year!”
“Faithful, Christ-Centered, passionate congregation.”
“Coming together with other churches to provide opportunities to view the world through another lens.”
“I celebrate the people who have found good leaders and have worked to find good pastors, choir leaders, teachers, people who keep our grounds beautiful, those who cook, clean, etc.”
Dreams That I Have For Unity In 2019
“I dream for us to continue adding and assimilating new members.”
“Grow in God’s love.”
“More efforts to bring community together and celebrate diversity.”
“To have a bigger part in caring for the poor in our community.”
“Paying off the church mortgage.”
“Find a way to remain relevant and sustainable for the next generation.”
“Unity is on a good path- strengthen it!”
Thank you for your responses. And thank you for turning in your Estimated Giving Sheets. We are off to a good start and hope to have all of them in by the end of our campaign on Nov. 18. Forms are available at https://www.unitypres.org/connect-with-us/giving/
This Sunday we begin our new series on the book of James. If you want a head start, go ahead and read James 1 this week. I can’t wait.
See you on Sunday!
