Our children’s ministry is booming! It is so fun to see 20-25 kids engaged each week in Sunday school!
Session has been at work to create a plan to keep this momentum growing, even as Bailey transitions. Here’s how they plan to accomplish it:
Pastor Dana will shift her responsibilities in order to shepherd the children’s program.
Pastor Dana reported feeling called to lead the children of Unity. She will oversee the program, recruit volunteers, coordinate programming, and offer pastoral support to parents. I’m very thankful for Dana responding to her call. The children’s program is in great hands.
Even with shifting some of Dana’s responsibilities, the session recognizes that she’ll need help. Therefore, they have authorized the hiring of a part-time Children’s Ministry Assistant. This person will prep the Sunday school activities, gather supplies, assist with Sunday morning check-in, and more.
The combination of Pastor Dana and the Children’s Ministry Assistant means that the children and families of Unity will be poised to thrive.
The session has called a congregational meeting for Sept. 18 between services to approve Dana’s new terms of call.
Please join me in thanking Pastor Dana for shepherding our children, youth and families!
