This past Sunday, we explored how God seeks to mold us into the image of Jesus by being the “refining fire.” I showed a 3-minute clip of a longer video that I promised to share with you. Here is the link:

It is a great video! When you have an extra ten minutes today, please find time to watch it.
The video is based on this verse:
For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
–Ephesians 2:10
When you look in the mirror, what do you see?
I hope you see a person who is in progress.
One of the essential goals of the Christian journey is to become more like Christ. The Holy Spirit is at work in each one of us to accomplish this work. Every day, we will be given new opportunities to resemble Jesus.
As we take steps towards love and grace and justice and peace, we take steps towards Jesus.
As the video shows, some of the work is painful. Becoming like Christ means giving up things that are not like Jesus. Yet even in the painful moments, God is with us to strengthen us for the journey.
This Sunday, we will have the Chili Cook-Off at noon– come support our youth! We will also have butter braid tasting at both services. The butter braids are a fundraiser to support our preschool.
We will also continue the Indescribable God series to explore how God is like a gardener. What a great Sunday!
See you on Sunday!
