Gail Shiflett helps a mom eat in peace by holding a young resident of Hesed House during Tuesday night’s dinner.
On Tuesday, March 5, the Tuesday Night Bible Study took a meal to the residents at Hesed House, Lincoln County’s only homeless shelter. Five crock pots of stew were quickly gone and items were left for snacks and breakfast. Unity members serve a meal to the residents on the first Tuesday of each month. If you would like to be a part of preparing, delivering, or serving, please contact Vic Leith at vleith@twc.com.
Thanks to the Hesed House of Hope, many residents have been able to regroup and find housing and jobs. Currently, there are also 9 children at the shelter between the ages of 9 months and 15 years. In addition, the house provides an outreach to those living in tents and under bridges around the area.
