Next Steps for Unity

I am thrilled to report that Unity has raised over $18,000 for its “Virus Relief Fund.” Forty people have already been sent checks of $200. WAY TO GO!

I am so proud of this church.

More need is arising every day in our community. Just yesterday the governor announced the closing of all salons, movie theaters, schools, gyms, and gatherings of 50 or more people until May 15. We have already begun to reach out to local salons and gyms to let them know about the relief fund.

We have received enthusiastic feedback from those who have benefited from Unity’s support. Here are a couple of comments that we received:

Relief Fund Responses

“My business is closed, credit cards are maxed out, any relief that you send will be a blessing.”

“I have never asked for assistance but the current situation is a real hardship for my family.”

“I’m a college student who lives alone and I have no idea how I’m going to be able to pay my bills…I would be so grateful.”

“My 11 month old son just had surgery…it’s been struggle to provide for him daily, if this is true it would be such a blessing.”

“I didn’t know how I was going to pay my electric bill and rent, your help is a blessing.”

“I would like to express my gratitude to the church for caring about the surrounding citizens who are facing hard times.”

“I am a hardworking mother of a five year old…allow me to personally thank your congregation at your next service.”

“I just started work at a salon that has now closed..have zero income..help is very much appreciated.”

“I am working at a small business and we don’t get sick pay …any help would be greatly appreciated and thank you for doing what you are to help people.”

“I make $2.13 an hour plus tips, only working 6-9 hours a week now for take out orders, I appreciate any relief you can give.”

“I could use some help with groceries…this will stock up for me and my 5 year old for two weeks.”

The mission of the church continues! It may look and feel a bit different, but it is in essence the same.

Due to the governor’s orders, Unity will continue with live-streaming our services (meaning no in-person services) through May 15. I am hoping that May 17 will be our first Sunday back together in person. I realize that this is a rapidly changing situation, so I will let you know if this needs to change.

In the meantime, we will continue to offer meetings through Zoom. Have you tried it yet? It is very user friendly and easy to use.

Tuesday Bible Study- Tuesdays at 4 pm. https://zoom.us/j/691556581

Unity Groups- Thursdays at 1 pm. https://zoom.us/j/551348097
I set these up as recurring events so the same link should continue to work each week.

On Sunday we will continue our 40 Days Of Promise series. Abraham and Sarah finally receive a son! But then God asks of them the impossible…

We had a couple of issues with live-streaming on Sunday, but I believe we have those all worked out now. Streaming will be available on our website and on Facebook moving forward.

“See” you on Sunday!
