Vacation Bible School is off to a fantastic start!
This year we have 70 kids registered and numerous volunteers. Our Children’s Director, Bailey Beam, is the director. It has been outstanding.
The theme is Rocky Railway: Jesus’ Power Pulls Us Through. Each morning begins with songs and dances. The children then watch a skit between Bailey and the train conductor (me!). By the end of the skit, the kids have learned their Bible Point of the day. Today the children learned that Jesus’ power gives us hope.
After the skits and songs, the kids are divided into crews and participate in a variety of stations: the Bible Adventure Station, Imagination Station, KidVid Cinema, Loco Motion Games, and my daughter’s personal favorite, Chew Chew Snacks. After all of the stations, the crews meet back in the sanctuary for a closing program and more songs.
VBS is so, so fun! But even more importantly, it is an excellent tool to teach children about God. God loves us so incredibly much, but we won’t know about that love unless we are taught. VBS is one of the major ways we teach children about God’s unending love for them.
Here are a few photos from the first three days of VBS:
