Unity Congregation,
I share with you the news that Bailey Beam has accepted the position of Chorus/Music Teacher at East Lincoln Middle School and North Lincoln Middle School. Bailey started as Unity’s Director of Children’s Ministry in July of 2019. In her three years at Unity, she has shepherded a robust children’s program through Sunday morning programming, amazing Vacation Bible Schools, and fun Sprouts activities. She has formed lasting relationships with many of the children of this church (and adults!). I am very thankful for Bailey’s service.
This was her first job after graduating from Lenoir-Rhyne with a degree in Sacred Music and Vocal Performance. She learned the ropes quickly and immediately became a fixture on the staff. One of my favorite memories with Bailey is leading bi-monthly chapel together for Unity’s preschool. The kids were always ecstatic to wave to Miss Bailey whenever they saw her on campus.
Bailey also served as the interim choir director. Her voice and her love of music became an unexpected gift to this church. She also directed the bell choir for the past two years and was a regular singing in the choir. It is fair to say that Bailey immersed herself in many different programs of this church.
Bailey’s last Sunday at Unity will be Oct. 2. Bailey will continue to lead Sunday school and Wednesday night children’s choir through Oct. 2. The session will share plans for future leadership of these areas closer to this time. In the meantime, please join me in thanking Bailey for her years of service and praying for this next stage of her journey.
I’ll leave you with this Bible verse to reflect on:
“The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you.”
-Deuteronomy 31:8
The Lord is with Bailey as she enters this new stage of her life. In fact, God is leading the way. And we are grateful for it. God is also leading Unity through this time of transition. It is our joy to follow.
This Sunday we begin our new preaching series Strange Scriptures. Did you know there’s a talking donkey in the Bible? This Sunday will also be our Blessing of the Backpacks and Sunday school Kick-off!
See you on Sunday!
