I’ve got a song stuck in my head this morning. Do you recognize it?
Celebrate good times, come on!
For there’s a party goin’ on right here,
A celebration to last throughout the years,
So bring your good times, and your laughter too,
We gonna celebrate your party with you!
Come on, now!
These lyrics come from the 1980’s hit Celebration. They are fitting because this Sunday is Celebration Sunday! We will unveil the results of the capital campaign and celebrate all God has done.
Here are the details for the party…I mean church service.
—Kids Parade at the 9:30 am service
—Special musician at both services (trumpet!)
—Handbells at 11 am
—Yummy muffins and baked good in-between services
—Breakfast at 8:30 am
—Communion at both services
We’re going to have a great time as we celebrate the faithfulness of this congregation and the meaningful work of God in our midst.
This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.
—Psalm 118:24
Every day is a cause for celebration because every day is a gift from God. Today is the day that the Lord has made. So was yesterday. And so is tomorrow.
Therefore, we get to rejoice!
We get to be glad!
Life will still have its challenges and painful moments. But we must not forget to give thanks for each day God has made.
Sunday will be a day to rejoice in the Lord. We spent the past four weeks studying the ways we could improve our campus and strengthen our church. We reflected on our legacy and anticipated our future together.
Now, we get to come together in thankfulness and joy for what God has done.
I can’t wait.
See you on Sunday!
